Millennium Avenue

To mark the millennium, the late Ian MacNicol planted an avenue of Plantanus Acerifolia, or Plane trees, to the south west of the garden. On the South side of the avenue the adjoining woodland has also been planted with an arboretum of softwoods. The Millennium Avenue is open to the public for the first time in 2015. Visitors can walk its 400m length, lined with late daffodils in early May, to a planting of vibrant pink Cynthia rhododendron.
